Sole Representative visa

This is designed for employees of foreign companies who intend to have a UK branch of their oversees company. This visa is also known as Representative of an Overseas Business Visa. The overseas companies can send a representative to the UK to set up a UK branch or subsidiary office, including carrying out market research, registering the company here in the UK and negotiating with suppliers and customers. It is very important that such representative must have the authority to make day-to-day decisions in the UK, they cannot be a director or major shareholder in the company.

This visa type also allows an applicant to bring in their dependant to the UK.

The visa will be for 3 years with further extension for 2 years if the business operates successfully. The applicant would be eligible for permanent residency after 5 years and British Citizenship after 6 years provided the requirements are met.
